Like what? What have you heard specifically? I upgraded the minute it came out and never had any problems.
Even so, it came out a long time ago There have been small updates since then. Maybe whatever bugs you are reading about were from the initial release and have been fixed long ago? I definitely recommend upgrading to iMovie I was on the Apple website looking at the iMovie 11 upgrade page, noticed that there were reviews so had a look. The main problem was with users losing their movies and also not being able to export, and with freezing.

My questions are: 1. I wonder if it has to do with some QuickTime extensions or something else you have installed. Have you tried many different export settings? Maybe try that.

I have no idea if iMovie 09 would work on Lion. I doubt that the projects would work. Hi, just wanted to tell about my experience — I upgraded to Lion and then to iMove I really like iMovie 11 so far. I did have a couple of mishaps with productions loosing the music. I have jpeg and video mix. I want to import video from a non-encripted home DVD to iMovie. Still waiting for Apple to wise up and return to making powerful yet elegantly simple applications.
Ease of learning and use is what brought me to the Mac, but the lack of these elements is keeping me away from Apple's apps these days.

Apple isn't forcing you to use each and every feature they add Objectively speaking, upgrade whzt is better than iMovie 7 or 2010 and I gave you some of the reasons why Mac a good app and it deserves 5 stars in my opinion :. But iMovie has always frustrated me. While I'm sure it can do a lot of neat stuff, I still can't get the hang of it, and have problems with even fundamental steps, let alone advanced features. It's one of the least user-friendly apps I've encountered, and, AFAIK, there's no really good, thorough user manual, either by Apple, who should have written one their support site is almost insultingly lightweightnor by anyone else.
