rxm These brought my system up to 32GB. What does it recommend? This is interesting, I am doing that presently. After moving the DIMMs about, I'm getting some different results now and it appears that I'm close to a "proper" configuration.

The arrangement is not what you would initially think logical. Tetsujin Tetsujin What would the order need to be in order for that to properly work? I believe that I did as you note above, but it failed and so I'd like to get more specific. I'd go 16, 16, then all the 4's.

It's simply missing the full story - and I guess most people don't care enough to dig a little deeper. Indeed; albeit I was referencing a 'mid MacBook Pro i5 or i7' Looks like a mid Macbook 7,1 can be updated to 16gb RAM I have the same model and I'm curious if its supported, I've yet to find a definitive answer for this particular machine.
As far as I can tell, this appears to be an Apple SW limitation of some sort.

Did it operate ok? OWC says they have tested this and it doesn't work.
I really wish this can be fixed in at least the next version of OS X. It is clear that it is probably the drivers that are probably broken. What kind of memory did you use?
