Were you able to bootca,p Win 8 without any crashes on your MBP. I have pretty much the same computer so if you have any advice for installing W8 properly, I'd like to hear it!

Yeah I had the same problem. I'm using windows to play Steam games so I downloaded chrome to get steam faster and I can play my games without problems but when I go on the Internet or have a slow connection like at a public library or coffee shop my computer will crash.

I am really happy with its driveer now on mine. Mar 15, AM. Where did you get all drivers from? I downloaded bootcamp drivers from website here 5. The Windows 7 drivers from the last boottcamp of Bootcamp work well bootcajp to install Windows 8, then when you have it installed if you manually check for and install the lastest updates it will update all of the drivers to ones that will work the best for Windows 8.
The only thing that needs a bit of additional effort to get working is the trackpad. I will try to find the post that showed me how get the trackpad working. Right now I'am trying to download drivers via bootcamp 5. The problem is that I tried to install W8 few month before and it always crashed with bootcamp drivers.

On the Apple Support forum for BootCamp it says: "Bootcamp Assistant does not erase your existing Mac OS X partition or any of your Mac OS X software when it creates a new partition for Microsoft Windows" so you should be safe to use it, although there are risks with any software installation especially when playing with partitions so I can't absolutely guarantee it.
